A RESPONSIBILITY TO STUDENTS-Supporting Student Development A1a. Have a primary obligation to the students, who are to be treated with dignity and respect as unique individual. Before sessions begin, I will review my primary obligations to the student, who will always be treated with dignity and respect.A.2. Confidentiality -A2b Inform students of the purposes, goals, techniques, rules and procedures under which they may receive counseling. Disclosure includes informed consent and clarification of the limits of confidentiality. During our sessions we will review our purpose and goals we will use during our counseling sessions, I will also discuss the limits of confidentially. A.3. Comprehensive School Counseling Program A3a-Provide students with a culturally responsive school counseling program that promotes academic, career and social/emotional development and equitable opportunity and achievement outcomes for all students. During our session as a school counselor, I will always culturally respond to your academic, career social/emotional development at all times. A.4c. Academic, Career and Social/Emotional Planning. A4c-Identify and examine gaps in college and career access and address both intentional and unintentional biases in postsecondary and career counseling. It is my responsibility identify and examine gaps addressing both intentional and unindent. As a school counselor, I will identify and examine gaps in college and career access. A.9. Serious and Foreseeable Harm to Self and Others. A9D-Provide culturally responsive mental health resources to parents/guardians. As a school counselor I always provide culturally responsive resources to my students and parents.
